Jody Hoegstedt
It was a lifelong love of dance, music, and fitness that inspired professional dancer and fitness expert Jody Hoegstedt, to develop Balletone. Jody began her extensive dance training at the age of 9, and by age 15, she was teaching ballet at the Clytie Adams School of Ballet in Kaysville, Utah. In 1988 she was awarded the William F. Christianson Ballet Scholarship, and entered the University of Utah, where she went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. While at the University, Jody danced professionally with Ballet West, and continued teaching at the Clytie Adams School of Ballet. In 1990, Ballet West nominated Jody for the prestigious Princess Grace Foundation Award for her talent as a dancer. Following graduation, she moved to Boston, Massachusetts, where she danced with various companies and taught at Boston University, Wellesley College and the Lexington School of Ballet.

By 1994 Jody had expanded her teaching to the health club and the world of fitness. She brought elements from her dance training into the gym setting creating unique choreography for her aerobics, step, and body sculpting classes. These classes were the initial testing grounds for what would eventually become the trademarked Balletone Program. The demand for the Balletone exercise classes encouraged Jody to found the Balletone Corporation in 1997, where she serves today as President and Creative Director. The popularity of Balletone classes and videos has inspired national coverage on ABC and NBC news, and in magazines such as Shape, Natural Health and Oxygen . She was honored with the ECA World Fitness "Best New Rising Star" OBOW award in 2004.

Jody holds certifications with AFAA in Personal Training and Group Fitness, and Group Fitness with ACE as well as the Physical Mind Institute for Pilates. She is a nationally recognized fitness presenter at conventions throughout the country, including ECA World Fitness, DCAC Fitness Expo, IDEA World Fitness and the SCW Fitness Education. To meet the demand for Balletone classes, Jody developed the Balletone Instructor Training Workshops, which are hosted at leading fitness facilities nationwide.
