Workshop Descriptions

Pick Your Path

Balletone has evolved ... more programs and instructor training possibilities to meet your needs. We've expanded beyond the original dance-based Balletone workout, though the Original is still the gold-standard and a program we highly encourage you take out for a spin on the dance floor.  Balletone's family of programs draw upon multiple approaches from which you - the instructor, personal trainer, or fitness facility - can pick and choose for your Balletone-based classes.

Learn an entire program to put on an upcoming schedule or simply slip pieces of the choreography into your existing classes of any format.  Even if you never teach a Balletone class from start to finish, you can effectively apply the BALLETONE BLUEPRINT for SUCCESS to create and deliver workouts that are easy to teach and easy to do, leaving everyone feelign successful.  Be prepared to provide an elevated experience for your clients.

You choose your path - or multiple paths - based on your interests and needs. Balletone provides a wide variety of workshop types to get you started:

  1. Instructor Trainings - in depth workshops requiring a 6-10 hr time commitment, pre and post self-study that prepare a fitness professional to lead a Balletone class to clients at its conclusion; once you have participated in an Instructor Training you have the option of applying for the MBA (Master Balletone Ambassador) Program to receieve a level of distinction for outstanding achievement.
  2. Instructor Intensives - 4 hour workshops that introduce Balletone programs to fitness professionals with an emphasis on the philosophy and approach, requiring significant self study to master movements and choreography. Intensives are perfectly paired with our online resources for choreography and provide fitness professionals the opportunity to try on a program for size.
  3. Instructor Workshops - workshops can last between 2 and 4 hours. The shorter workshops are generally used to introduce a Balletone concept, a Balletone program or as continuing education for instructors that have participated in the Instructor Trainings or Home Studies. After completing a workshop, you will possess enough knowledge to take the choreography and concepts out for a test drive or slip the moves into classes you currently teach. A workshop will not fully prepare you to teach the desired program, but is a great place to get started.
  4. Instructor Home Studies - COMING SOON! - soon, you will have the ability to learn many of the Balletone programs in the comfort of your own home. Of course, home studies cannot replace the live experience, but we understand that you may possess the desire to learn and simply not be able to get to an upcoming workshop. We are excited to begin bringing this option to you in early 2008.

INTRODUCTION TO BALLETONE

Balletone: Sole Synthesis (Instructor Training or Intensive - 4 - 6 hrs)

Sole Synthesis is the perfect starting place for Balletone; an intensive or instructor training designed to showcase the Balletone Blueprint for success and highlight the fitness, dance/pilates and yoga pathways available.  Sole Synthesis is also a fabulous stand alone fusion class that seamlessly blends creative movement sequences with mindful instruction for an incredible workout.

This workshop will focus on how to combine various disciplines seamlessly within one class setting using the fundamental teaching techniques and primary concepts of Balletone.  A basic overview of each of discipline’s uniqueness and theory will be reviewed and discussed along with how they can relate and compliment one another (Balletone, Yoga and Fitness).  Objectives will be introduced with a theoretical approach and reinforced through practical application.  Skills and drills will allow the attendees to develop an understanding of how the educational elements of Balletone can be utilized to enhance group or one-on-one instruction regardless of the population or discipline being used.  This workshop is designed for group exercise, Pilates and Yoga instructors, and possibly personal trainers.
